Christmas in July 2018
shaped up to be, yet again, an absolutely, amazing event. Guests were treated to a 4-course fine dining
experience in our hospitality restaurant that had been transformed into a
magical ‘Enchanted Garden’. Many of the intricate
decorations were hand-made by students and staff and the guests certainly noted
the time and effort that had gone into everything they saw.
The menu was expertly
selected and included a few of our old favourites. Year 12 students took on leadership roles such
as Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Head Steward, Maître D and Head Drinks Waiter. The
amazing food was produced by a huge team of students and staff, ranging from Year
9 through to Year 12. The Year 9 students
were invited to take part in what has become, one of the school’s prestige
events on the social calendar as they had showed potential in their food
studies class in Semester 1.
A huge thank
you to the dedicated hospitality teachers who constantly give so much of their
time to ensure their students can participate in real life experiences such as
this. However, without the ongoing support
of many other staff from departments within the school, families, local
businesses and students these type of events would never get off the ground. Planning
has already begun for next year, bring on Christmas in July 2019.
