Drama Night 2016

Since the beginning of Term 2 our Drama Troupe students had been working tirelessly on a performance that was set to shock, entertain and impress. On Thursday 6 October 2016, friends and family members of our Drama Troupe students joined us to watch a student devised masterpiece: ‘Once Upon a Twisted Tale’. The script, written by students, followed the life of a prince who continuously failed to save his princess. The students were instructed to write a fractured fairy tale. They met the challenge and came up with some brilliant ideas.

Year 12 students Jsyah Elers and Isabella Jahnke took to the stage to perform a scene from Samuel’s Beckett ‘Waiting for Godot’. And to finish the night Year 11 students, Curtis King and Molly Hutchinson performed a ‘Commedia dell’Arte’ performance to heighten the atmosphere.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to all of those involved in creating a well-polished and amazing Drama Night. Thank you for your support on the night but for also being patient with our students during their late rehearsals, their constant going over of lines and the stress that comes with putting on a big performance like the 2016 Drama Night.
Drama Night 2016 was an amazing success and we cannot wait to put on a bigger and even better performance in 2017.
