During National Science Week in August, our school opened its doors to more than 45 home-schooled students and their parents for an exciting day of hands-on science activities.
STEM Academy students assisted and presented in physics, chemistry and biology themed rooms, with the home-schooled students being able to conduct coloured flame tests, experiment with dry ice, make mini vortex cannons, burn magnesium metal and use ultraviolet lights to test the antibacterial properties of a variety of materials.
It was a great opportunity for our STEM Academy students to extend their skills in planning and presenting, and to give something back to our local community.
