Welcome to the Tullawong State High School community, where our school vision is: Empowering students to reach their full potential. We will achieve this vision through our mission statement; Fostering a positive culture for learning, allowing all students to create their future. This year, our school theme is “Whatever it takes"; a statement which champions our commitment to ensuring quality outcomes for all students.
Complementing our vision and mission, is our motto, soaring to great heights. We enact our vision, mission and motto through our four school values of Courage, Integrity, Diligence, and Respect, which we explicitly teach to our students. These statements combined, epitomise what it means to be a “Tullawong" student.
We pride ourselves on our inclusive school environment, where every child is nurtured and challenged to soar to great heights. Our school is committed to ensuring that every child who attends our school, is challenged to reach their full potential, through access to a diverse range of learning opportunities.
We are committed to delivering an academic advantage to our students that will contribute significantly to their future success in work, family life and community service. We understand that the work we do today, sets our students up successfully for life after school, which is why we have a number of academy programs to support our students to reach beyond the ordinary, to the extraordinary. These extension programs provide students with opportunities to excel with Industry Professionals.
We enjoy a close relationship with our local university, the University of Sunshine Coast. Students from years 7 to 12 take advantage of sampling university life through their participation in a range of university-sponsored workshops, competitions and on-campus experiences.
We also function as our own Registered Training Organisation with a significant amount of Vocational Education and Training (VET) certificates on our scope. This means that we can empower students to achieve qualifications that will not only contribute to their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) but will also allow them to gain industry-level competencies, which can lead to employment, further training and/or study.
Our house system is the underpinning structure for our positive and inclusive learning culture, where students and staff have the opportunity to learn and create in a disciplined environment, allowing all students to create their future. Our positive learning culture is underpinned by our belief that every member of our community should feel a strong sense of belonging, within an environment of high expectations.
We are committed to ensuring our students feel part of our community and we use our house system and Ignite structure to support this. Our collective drive to empower each student to reach his or her potential, is reflected in the energy and diligence invested in our work, to make every lesson count.
We empower our students to undertake their work with diligence, courage, respect and integrity, and in doing so, set them up for success, so that they can contribute meaningfully to our community, and our economy. Our students soar to great heights because we empower them to reach their full potential, by fostering a positive culture for learning, allowing all students to create their future.
We look forward to welcoming you into the Tullawong family.
